Lead Process Innovation in a High-Tech, Multi-Trade Aerospace Environment

We are recruiting for an experienced Process and Planning Supervisor on behalf of a top-tier aerospace and manufacturing organization. This is a key leadership role that blends hands-on technical oversight with strategic process development across maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations.

This opportunity is ideal for a skilled manufacturing or mechanical engineering professional who thrives in fast-paced, high-precision environments and is looking to take the next step into a supervisory leadership role within the aviation industry.

About the Role

As the Process and Planning Supervisor, you will oversee the execution and continuous improvement of production processes within a multi-disciplinary shop environment. You’ll work closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure work is planned, documented, and executed to the highest standards — while driving efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Supervision

  • Prioritize and assign workloads across manufacturing and repair teams.

  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and participate in hiring and training.

  • Oversee safety, compliance, and adherence to process standards.

  • Support change management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Process & Documentation

  • Develop and implement optimized production workflows and technical processes.

  • Maintain accurate production documentation, task tracking, and time allocations.

  • Manage and audit controlled documents, production records, and scheduling tools.

  • Coordinate root cause analysis and implement corrective actions as needed.

Customer & Project Management

  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external customers on quality and delivery timelines.

  • Drive customer satisfaction through responsive service, reporting, and problem resolution.

  • Review and support estimates, quotes, and cost-tracking for ongoing projects.

Technical Oversight

  • Interpret and evaluate technical drawings, product specs, and engineering change orders.

  • Research and implement improved techniques for material handling, machining, and assembly.

  • Ensure all work complies with ISO 9001:2015, Transport Canada CAR 561 and 571, and quality management systems.

  • Stay current on tooling, process improvements, and advanced manufacturing methods.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or repair environment (multi-trade/multi-skilled teams preferred).

  • Solid understanding of machining, heat treating, composites, finishing processes, welding, and aerospace systems.

  • Working knowledge of Transport Canada regulations and ISO 9000 principles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (e.g., SAP), CAD software (SOLIDWORKS preferred), and PLM tools.

  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and technical reporting.

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Demonstrated success in project management and team leadership.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary + bonus structure based on organizational performance

  • Health, dental, and disability coverage

  • Health & personal spending accounts

  • Paid vacation and personal time off

  • Pension matching plan & optional RRSP contributions

  • Employee & Family Assistance Program

  • Access to free financial planning resources

Industry Advantage

You’ll be joining an organization that supports some of the most complex aerospace projects across corporate, commercial, and defense sectors — with a culture rooted in craftsmanship, safety, and operational excellence. This is a strong growth role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of engineering, operations, and leadership.
